Welcome to Germany’s official participation at the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair!

China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) is the only Asia-Pacific children’s book fair dedicated to copyright trading, author promotion, publishing, printing and distribution in contents for 0- to 16-year-old children and teenagers, including books, magazines, audio-visual material and educational services. As an event with B2B and B2C, the first CCBF was launched in November 2013 and won a huge success.

Germany is participating in this book fair because of the many possibilities for cultural and economic exchange. New children’s books, juvenile and young adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as picture and audio books from Germany will be on show. Personal contacts with the German publishing industry, information on the Frankfurt Book Fair and exchange with the international children’s book market: the German Pavilion does so much more than simply inviting you to discover the contemporary editorial panorama in Germany.

Last year, some 938 licences for German titles were sold in China. This means it was once again the highest ranking country by a large margin in 2014 (2013: 998 contracts). With a 15.3 percent share, Chinese is now clearly the leading target language for translations of German books (2013: 16.7 percent). English, in second place, accounts for just seven per cent.

On behalf of all exhibitors, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and the supporting associations wish all participants a successful show and extend a warm welcome to all visitors of the German Pavilion in hall 2 at booth D11.
