The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) is gearing up for the “Islamic Economy Fiqh” forum in collaboration with Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre from 22-24 of March 2015. It is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and is aligned with Dubai’s plans to establish itself as the capital of the Islamic economy.

“The forum is an initiative by Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department as a step supporting the initiative that has been launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a global capital of the Islamic economy and his plan to promote economic activities compatible with Islamic law in order to develop international and national economic projects.” Stated Dr. Hamad Bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director General of IACAD.

The forum has four key themes, legislation, application, analysis and the future, all enhancing the emirates position as the hub for Islamic economy. The academic panel of the forum has already announced research submission requirements on the IACAD website and announced prizes for distinguished plans supporting Islamic economic laws and Dubai’s roadmap to becoming the Islamic economy capital
