WELCOME to the GERMAN PAVILION  at MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2016!

The city state of Singapore is an important gateway into the South-East Asian market and has demonstrated stable continuous economic growth over the last years.

Singapore has one of the most advanced healthcare infrastructures worldwide and serves as a role-model for other countries in the region. The Singaporean government continues to develop and invest in the healthcare sector as well as into medical manufacturing capabilities. The Ministry of Health has made extensive efforts to restructure the healthcare system towards an integrated, holistic care model and to set up a nation-wide electronic medical records system. Overall, the Singaporean medical engineering market has grown substantially over the last one and a half decades, from € 211 million in 2002 to recently more than € 500 million. This makes Singapore as well as the wider region a very attractive destination for exporters of medical equipment/technology and for companies wishing to invest in the region.

Germany is one of the top three leading suppliers of medical equipment to Singapore. Exports of the German medical engineering sub-sector, which is represented by the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), summed up to € 142.4 million in 2015. With it, German companies account for approximately 10% of Singapore’s total medical engineering imports.

German producers enjoy a very good market position due to the quality of their products, their high-level of innovation and excellent tailor-made services. This makes the brand “Made in Germany” a very valuable asset, invoking the long tradition and technological excellence of German companies.

The German exhibitors, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and the Medical Engineering Division of ZVEI, the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, welcome you to the official German representation, wish all exhibitors and visitors a successful Medical Fair Asia 2016 and many new fruitful contacts!
