German musical diversity in the digital age!

Digital music, especially streaming services, is achieving enormous growth in Germany and is today responsible for more than 30% of the revenues of German music industry – but still 68% are earned with physical products like Cds or Vinyl. Total revenues from digital and physical music sales, performance rights and the dubbing in Germany rose to a total of more than 2 billion euros. Driven by the creativity of authors, producers, record companies and publishers, Germany has been able to widen its national share in the charts to more than 50%, thus laying the basis for further investments in new trends and newcomers.

The German Pavilion at the 50th Midem is a prestigious showcase for the musical diversity of the world’s third largest recorded music market. Over 7,000 trade visitors to Midem will be able to experience and meet German music creativity in the hall Riviera 7 of the Palais des Festivals (Information Center: booth No. R7.L 4, exhibitors booth No. R7.K 1, R7.K 2 4, R7.K 4 and R7.J 2).

The German Pavilion at Midem has been made possible by the collaborative efforts of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), the German Music Publishersʼ Association (DMV) and the Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (Bitkom). They all welcome all Midem visitors to the official German presentation at the German Pavilion in the Riviera 7.
