Welcome to the German Pavilion at ProPak Vietnam / Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2016

This year once again an official German Pavilion is set up at ProPak Vietnam/Plastics & Rubber Vietnam in Ho-Chi-Minh City, where German exhibitors are presenting their range of delivery and service solutions for the food processing and packaging industry, the plastics and rubber industry as well as current trends.

The food and beverage industry of Vietnam is a rapidly growing industry. The driving force is the demand from abroad but the domestic demand is also growing. Rising incomes, growing urbanization and the increasing spread of modern retail structures contribute to the growing demand for food and drink processed and packaged in a modern way.

The rising demand for consumer goods and food stuffs leads to an increasing demand for modern packaging. The packaging industry is one of the most rapidly developing industries in Vietnam and the plastics sector is growing strongly.

There is a high demand for foreign machinery featuring state-of-the-art technology to meet the requirements of the end user industries. This is reflected in the continuously rising import figures for food processing and packaging machinery as well as for plastic and rubber machinery.

2014 Vietnam imported food processing and packaging machinery worth 356 million Euros, which is a plus of 2 per cent compared with the previous year. With a market share of 24 per cent Germany is one of the most important trade partners of Vietnam for this kind of machinery.

Vietnam’s imports of plastics and rubber machinery in 2014 amounted 473 million Euros, a plus of 14 per cent compared with 2013. Germany is one of the imported suppliers (rank 5 of the TOP 10) of this kind of machines.

The German manufacturers of food processing and packaging machinery and also of plastics and rubber machinery offer themselves as powerful partners for the expansion of the Vietnamese industry.
