SOFEX 2016

U.S. manufacturers and suppliers of special operations, land and air defense, and homeland security and security products and services should plan on participating in SOFEX 2016, the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference 2016. Held May 10-12, 2016 at the King Abdullah Airbase in Amman, Jordan, SOFEX 2016 is an excellent venue to demonstrate capabilities for land and air assault presentations as well as the latest technologies that address the concerns and needs of Special Forces and security forces. Featuring a total display area of 75,000 sq. meters with hospitality chalets, live fire demonstrations and an outdoor demonstration area for tracked and wheeled vehicles and special operations demonstrations by SWAT and other special operations teams, SOFEX 2016 provides opportunities to demonstrate equipment and technologies in a secure and well-guarded area, a conference for technical presentations, and private hospitality suites to meet with business clients and high level government and military leaders and decision makers.

The USA Pavilion, the largest national pavilion at SOFEX since its inception in 2006, is considered to be the major “must visit” pavilion at SOFEX for all Jordanian and regional – Middle East and North Africa — high-level delegations and trade visitors. Jordan receives $300 million in military assistance annually from the United States which must be used to buy U.S. made equipment and services. With Jordan focusing on expanding and modernizing its military and national security forces, SOFEX 2016 offers U.S. exhibitors an excellent opportunity to meet with and demonstrate their equipment and capabilities to Jordanian decision makers.

SOFEX 2016 is the only special operations exhibition and conference held in the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on special operations forces and security forces, and their specialized equipment, training and combat service support systems. Speakers and seasoned experts from around the globe participate in this biennial conference and leading manufacturers and suppliers display their latest technologies. SOFEX 2014 featured 373 local, regional and international exhibitors, 33 country pavilions, 600 international delegations representing 52 countries – and SOFEX 2016 is expected to surpass these remarkable records!

The U.S. Ambassador will host a reception for U.S. exhibitors. Services offered to U.S. exhibitors at SOFEX 2016 by the U.S. Commercial Service in Jordan and neighboring countries throughout North Africa and Levant will include specific country market briefings, assistance with meeting foreign military and government delegation decision-makers, and the Gold Key Service (GKS). SOFEX 2016 also has received approval from the U.S. Department of Defense for participation of U.S. military personnel and equipment, and will receive the full support of the U.S. Liaison Office (USLO) at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan.
