Welcome to the presentation of the Federal Republic of Germany at ibtm world 2015!
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI), the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and the GCB German Convention Bureau welcome you to ibtm world 2015. We look forward to another productive and informative exhibition.
Germany has long since been a leader in areas such as global trade, international business, scientific research and technological development. This dynamic and innovative environment, combined with Germany’s state-of-the-art meetings infrastructure, offers an ideal backdrop for efficient and successful congresses, conferences and events.
According to the latest ranking of the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA), Germany ranks number one in Europe as a congress and conference location for the eighth consecutive year. One reason is that Germany boasts a diverse variety of large and well-equipped congress centers, hotels and event locations in all parts of the country, adding up to 6,614 locations in total. Moreover, Germany also offers ideal conditions as a meeting and event destination with its excellent infrastructure, great value for money and scientific and economic expertise in key industries.
Germany’s expertise in sustainable planning and organization in particular is a major competitive advantage. Germany is a worldwide leader for environmental technology and one of the key locations for the industry. It is number one in the field of renewable energies, which have been a success story in the last few years by combining environmental protection with economic growth. The country also has some of the biggest markets for solar thermal energy, energy storage, and fuel cell technology. As a longstanding global leader in environmental policies and green meetings, Germany is one of the most suitable destinations for sustainable events.
