The Expo is the key smart cities event globally, with over 400 cities, 242 companies and 10,000 visitors.
In 2014, CS Europe engaged with major U.S. players to gain industry insights; Established new clients relationships with U.S. organizations; Met with stakeholders at the municipalities of European cities to discuss cooperation and promote U.S. organizations involvement; Arranged for participation of Sokwoo Rhee, Associate Director of Cyber-Physical Systems and Presidential Innovation Fellow at NIST, who met with U.S. organizations and European cities to promote their involvement in NIST Team Challenge; Supported and promoted EU’s DG Enterprise-EEN matchmaking platform for B2B meetings between European and American SMEs.
Some of the results of our engagement in 2014 include: Amsterdam, London and Barcelona involvement in NIST Team Challenge; CS Milan and CS Rome meeting with Milan’s City Councilor leading the innovative Milan smart cities program, whose major stakeholders include U.S. companies such as Cisco; cooperation with IBM and the City of Madrid to promote Madrid smart city initiative which employs IBM technology to raise the profile of the project throughout Europe; High level of satisfaction from the U.S. SMEs that participated in the B2B meetings.
We are working with the show organizer to build on the 2014 success and leverage our presence at the show in 2015 by certifying the show, strengthening our relationships with European cities’ administrations, continuing our collaboration with NIST and supporting U.S. companies involvement in European smart cities projects.
