For the tenth consecutive show, a joint presentation of German companies producing high performance technical textiles and nonwovens made in Germany will take place in Houston. From 3 to 5 May, 31 German companies will be showcasing their latest products in an official German Pavilion at the Georgia World Congress Center.
At the German Pavilion you will find producers of state-of-the-art technical textiles – from raw material suppliers, yarn- and fabrics producers to finishing mills and companies for made-up goods – as well as producers of machinery and equipment for the processing of textiles and flexible materials.
Germany is the leading international trade partner for textiles within the European Union. In terms of its annual turnover of 28 billion Euros and the size of its labour force, the textile and fashion industry represents Germany’s most important consumer goods sector. The German textile industry, producing products for the market of apparel fabrics, home textiles and technical textiles, generates 60% of the overall turnover (40 % clothing). The share of technical textiles in the overall production output of the German textile and fashion industry amounts to more than 40 %, with producers supplying their innovative products and services globally to customer industries, such as the automotive, medical or building sector. Technical textiles are anticipated to have the greatest growth prospects in the years ahead with German producers being global market leaders.
The 200 members organized in our member association, the Industrial Association for Finishing – Yarns – Fabrics – Technical Textiles (IVGT), cover the entire textile value chain from raw material suppliers, yarn- and fabrics producers to finishing mills and companies for made-up goods. Member companies supply products for the market of apparel fabrics, home textiles and technical textiles and account for a turnover of more than € 6.6 billion. Technical textile producers supply their innovative products and services globally to customer industries, such as the automotive, medical or building sector. At the information stand of the Federal Republic of Germany, located at Level 1 Exhibit Hall B, our experts will be glad to advise you on additional export and import possibilities and respond to questions on economic relations with Germany.
On behalf of all German exhibitors, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry (t+m) and the Industrial Association for Finishing – Yarns – Fabrics – Technical Textiles (IVGT) we are looking forward to welcoming you at the Official German representation of Germany at Techtextil North America.
