The World Green Economy Summit (WGES), now in its second year, is designed to encourage solution-oriented thinking in-line with the necessary scale and pace needed to facilitate the global transition to a greener economy. Hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre on 22 April 2015, the theme of the WGES 2015 will be “The Global Green Economy”. Continuing to build upon the success of last year’s key conclusions, the most significant being The Dubai Declaration, the strategic commitment of this initiative is to establish Dubai as the ‘Capital of the Green Economy’. This event aims develop WGES public-private partnerships and the Green Economy marketplace as well as creating strong ties to the UN Climate Agreement 2015 through the Road to Paris and Sustainable Development Goals 2015.

The summit is dedicated to raising concerns and accelerating solutions related to greener economies in areas such as regulation, partnerships, finance, innovation and global markets. WGES 2015 will bring together top speakers, including CEOs, business executives, entrepreneurs, and national leaders on relevant session topics for well-framed discussions with international panelists.

Held under the leadership of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE), this summit will strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade, finance, the green economy and sustainable development and will be held in conjunction with the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2015 and Green Week.
